Dr Timothy William (Tim) Leggatt (b. 26/11/1933) died peacefully on the evening of 22 September 2022, at the age of 88. He was at Galanos House care home in Southam following a stroke in 2020, and was surrounded by family for his final moments.
Tim will be directly cremated and his ashes scattered in the grounds of King's College, Cambridge, which was a very special place for him.
We're grateful that Tim lived a long and very rich life, and that he was clearly much loved by family and friends. We would appreciate any photos, stories, memories and thoughts that people would like to share - via this page, or otherwise.
Donations are also welcome in his memory - for the British Heart Foundation, to support others with heart problems, and for the Royal British Legion, which runs Galanos House where Tim spent his final months.
With love,
Penny, William, Jack & Eva
In memory of Tim - a dear and close friend for many years. We first met in 1960, through Robert Loder, and remained in touch ever since in different places and through changing times. A recent (and typical) message from him read 'I too keep busy, with guitar lessons, Italian lessons, lipreading sessions and bridge, and seeing as much as possible of my wonderful children. an I read a good deal - 60 books this year. But I do miss you and Jeffrey very much...'
